More power from 96 Supra Sz...

Postby SupraSz » Wed Apr 27, 2005 10:34 pm

I have had a search through the forums but can't find that much about getting more power from a NA Supra.

I have an aftermarket exhaust system and will do the intake as the next step but what would it take to get the car into either the high 13's 1/4 mile or low 14's...

I have sort of brushed on the idea of NOS. I was looking at maybe a 100hp NOS shot.

Can someone please provide me with more information on this.

Thanks...

Is it auto or manual?

Not to sure myself of the NA potential of one of those, not many parts availble for them for NA performance (aftermarket camshafts etc are all turbo suited)

Just boost it  8)

thats a pretty good idea... a 75hp nos shot would cost bout 1000-1200 installed and your engine would handle it fine and nothing else would even come close in terms of bang for buck mods...

NOS? Bang for buck?
Don't forget: Mods = Money / power / time!
If you consider that NOS will typically only last for a minute (if you run it flat out), that seems like a bit of a waste of money for the power of the mod!

Get some REAL mods that will give your engine REAL power! Such as cams and headword! :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

And then what, 100$ a tank every month or so,
thats about $2400.

You could get a 1jz engine for half that, swap the head pistons etc, buy new rods and have a nice flash 1.5jzgte :) use the 1jz ecu with a 2j map sensor and injectors, and you now have one quick whale :)
