Picture of 4k engine bay

Postby 1goodidea » Mon May 16, 2005 11:41 am

Hey, just asking if some people could post pictures of there engine bay with a 4k in it?

Just need to make sure my vacum lines a correctly hooked up.

As at the moment the motor is running sweet, idling well but is abit hesitant (sp) at low revs.

I have the hose comming out of the carb and connecting to the intake manifold and no hose going to the Ignition advance unit on the side of the dizzy.

Thanks

James

Nope not that one, it comes out of the front of the carb and goes straight down to a connection on the intake manifold, I'm sure it surposed to go from the carb to the dizzy but it runs ruff as like that

OK i've fixed up the vacum hose and thats sweet,

Still having hesitation issue at low revs, and the other thing is frist thing in the morning when i pull the choke out and start the car it runs and then dies even though the choke is all the way out?

would that mean that my fuel mixture is either to rich or to lean?

Hesitant at low revs just sounds like a normal 4K if you ask me, they all seem like that until you pull about 2500-3500rpm...

Same thing with the choke, it is getting colder so just try keeping your foot down a bit for a minute or so before you rely on the choke to keep it idling...???

It's like the choke is killing the motor, by stuffing up the mixture. hard to explain

Get in car, pull choke out turn key, no gas pedal

car starts then dies, start again car dies, turn key again car starts quickly put choke back in so motor doesn't die again and put foot on gas once again car dies.

Do the same thing again and it eventually starts, its not like the 2k where pull choke out, turn key motor starts runs mint

just dont fully pull out the choke, pull it out slowly until its right, If that doesnt work, put in a 4age.

I don't use my choke at all. I just pump the gas once and then hold it on a lil til it starts.

It's a common problem that carby cars have when they are cold. Just idle it for a bit in the mornings before you go on to the road, it's a very sickly feeling to accelerate out on to the road and have it hesitate.
