the k-sport are from the same supplier as d2, just different paint, i personally wouldnt use the d2 ae86 kit, rather a set of hts/trd similar and trd springs,

edit : i wouldnt use koni's either

had a look at a set for AE85 yesterday and they look like bollocks. i don't how they expect the rear coil-over to fit and the fact that they supply a normal coil spring to fit the standard platform, suggests that the set-up is a mis-matched pile of poo. the front threaded section is only held in place by grub screws, which( in my opinion) won't stay in place too long.

buy at your own peril. they may look fancy, but (as stated above) there are cheaper more user friendly ways of doing this , with parts and service available locally. a set of Bilsteins with threaded collars and springs would possibly give change from $1k.

I dont think the rear shock mounts on the ae86 are designed to have springs fitted to them, and arent strong enough.

Sec hand maybe. But brand new would probably be over 2k.

i was quoted less than $600 for the Bilsteins (valves to suit), the collars aren't dear and springs??? considering you can't coil-over the rears without turreting and modifying diff mounts, i havn't allowed for rear coil-overs.

so does that mean what you suggested to be a mis-matched poo

no, merely stating that unless you are going to make the effort of doing it properly(i.e turreting), why pretend you have coil-over rears. the rear shocks in the package i veiwed had threaded bodies to accept spring perches but they arn't supplied, possibly because they won't fit and will more than likely rip the shock mount of the axle housing.  nudge nudge !!!!!

MATE Hook me up!

$600 for a pair of billies valved to suit is a damn good deal considering they usually go for about $500ish per corner, valved to suit. But $600 for all 4 corners 8O 8O 8O Thats $150 per corner 8O

Threaded sleeves are bout $100, top plates are about $40 and coilover springs are about the same price as normal lowering springs.

And why does everone seem to knock konis? what is actually wrong with them?

nothing, my take on the dissing iss that people assume that konis=$$$$$, which is untrue.. Can't see them being any dearer than billies, and they seem to have a better supplier in NZ than billies (george stock vs. spring technique) ??

that was a trade rate many months ago, but i believe i could still get them at a similar price(ish). the price i was qouted at trade for them was cheaper than KYB OEM replacements at retail. BNT get them in to order.

never heard bad things about Konis, it is just that Ohlins,DMS and Proflex are getting cheaper to buy(and now have local servicing) and you get what you pay for when it comes to shocks.
