AE92 Levin TEMS question

Postby crispy'86 » Wed Aug 10, 2005 2:03 pm

It looks like the actuator for the TEMS is missing on the top of my strut as the guy i bought it off may have taken it off. Is there an easy way to disconnect the TEMS set-up like unplug the microcomputer and remove it?? Or does anyone have any TEM<S actuators they have had on their Levins. Or more realistically just remove the Tems as they are known to cause trouble?

Im guessing its the same system with the supras with tems- some people used to set them to firm (or superfirm) and then remove the actuators. This would leave it in this position.
can be a useful trick if they are on their way out and you need them for afew more wof's.
imo, i'd just make sure they are all on the same setting and leave it at that. if youve got your heart on replacing them, then yea, upgrade, but as long as they are not leaking or anyting they should be fine. never had any issues with my supra ones.

I don't really know what they are like as the thing hasn't got any springs in it. Was like this when i bought it off the guy as part of the feal. I'll probably just swap everything from my ae92 trueno onto the levin all panels, suspension etc

good idea, if its been running without springs the shocks are probably rooted anyway.

the other thing is at160 (st162) shocks are the same bolt up pattern as the ae92's and have the strut casing 15mm shorter than levin/trueno. Would it be a good idea to run these with some lovells springs??? Get away with it alright with the springs being captive??
