INSTALLING VACUUM GUAGE ON AE101

Postby jamex316 » Fri Sep 23, 2005 2:16 pm

CAN ANYONE HELP? I'VE GOT AN AE101 20V 4AGE THAT HAS THE VACUUM GUAGE HOOKED UP TO ONE OF THE THROTTLE BODIES. THE GUAGE FLICKS, SO DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO LINK ALL THE THROTTLE BODIES TOGETHER OR TO MAKE IT WORK SOMEHOW?

FIRST OF ALL YOU HAVE TO TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK.

from what i understand on your post you are saying its not working properly, is it before or after the throttle bodies, this is what you need to do.
just find a place on the inlet manifold BELOW ALL the throttle bodies, and it should work fine

if its installed correctly maybe there is something wrong with your gauge or motor
cheers

No DON'T use FPR line to connect, it will flicker there, use T on one of the hoses on right side of intake manifold where there are 1 fat hose, 2 thin hoses, little bit to the right from PCV hose, basically you will see the round plug on top.

On every toyota i have seen, there are a few (3 or so) vacuum lines coming off the runners JUST before entering the head. Its a pity you aint MAP operated or you could go tap into the MAP line
