Assuming you've got an ABS equipped Trueno, then you'll have vented disks at the front already. You only need slotted and cross-drilled rotors if you're planning on "taking it to the track". Or insist on driving with absolute disregard to fuel consumption and other road users

i.e. not much point on a road car for braking from 100kmph... (or 130 kmph for that matter)

whats relatively cheap?
it will help but only if you really do a lot of breaking, normal driving doesnt build up enough heat to need the extra dissapation (sp)

get slotted, not drilled, unless you plan on frequent replacement.

this has been discussed at length before

Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

I simply buy standard rotors, and replace them a lot :) I worked out I can get three sets of standard rotors for the same price as one set of slotted.

With the car only being used for competition, my last set of rotors lasted about 18 months (~3,000km or so?)

Duzn't that defeat the purpose of a CUSTOM interior if any one can buy it??[/img]

Slotted useful if you run some of those semi-race type pads too.
I've got Mintex M1166 on the front of my AE85 and they used to squeak a lot when I was just short hop driving.
Since I've had the slotted they squeak less given the same type of driving.

Slotted are good, drilled is bad.

Drilled looks bling, but will crack under extreme heat. Technically drilled is also lighter, and thus reduces unsprung weight, but the reality in a road car is it wont make a noticeable difference. I heard (non confirmed), that proper drilled is in fact cast holes, as drilling isn't as long lasting as casting the hole.

Slotted will help extract gas away from the pad under extreme use, and will also skim any glazing from the pad (but will result in slightly more pad wear).

Stick with plain or slotted. Remember, even plain rotors come in a variety of quality, ensure you get some good ones. Try Trade Parts, they have always been good for me.

I use abs+slotted+high temp pads.. it does chew the pad down twice as fast, but it has alot of stopping power.. I have to polish brake dust off my mags every week but i'd still never go back
