SW20 Gearbox.

Postby Silent Knight » Sat Feb 11, 2006 11:47 am

Quick couple of questions here easily answered:

Car = 1990 N/A SW20 5M/T

1. What is the fluid capacity of the gearbox?
2. What grade fluid is best to use for the gearbox?
3. Where on the gearbox is the drain and fill plugs?

The gears in my partner's car is starting to crunch a little bit so I thought first thing to do is flush it out and get some fresh fluid in there and see how it goes.

Cheers for the help.

1) http://www.mr2-tech.com/bgb/mechanical/ ... nsaxle.htm
2) I use and recommend redline and have not had any problems with it, however its expensive and probably unnecessary here

Thanks Ben for the sockets!!

It's all done now.

And I would like to give a biggy ups to Chris (GT4SUM) for making me do twice the work because he played around with the position of the bolt on top of the gearbox for the shifters. Which means after I put everything back on and back together the gears couldn't change and I had to take it all apart again. :?

BLOODY FIDDLERS!!!!
