Rev dropping at High rpm.

Postby Quint » Sat Jun 24, 2006 1:04 pm

Fixed the old supra up all good, running like it should, the low down turbo lag isn't nearly as bad anymore. Except i got one odd problem that has popped up due to it.

At higher rpm say around 5g in 4th the rpm will drop say about a thousand down to 4g, I don't loose any speed or power, still keeps building, the engine doesn't sound like it is loosing a beat or anything, the car also seems to rev a bit high at idle, not sure if thats got anything to do with loosing rpm. anyone got any ideas or places to start?

EDIT: Considered tacho, but as i played around with it mechanically, rather than electronically, i've got a hunch it'll lie in the mechanics.

id still be looking back at the electronic side if the car actually does not change the slightest in the feeling (personally, I find a slipping clutch pretty obvious and easy to tell).
Does it change if you stamp down on the acc? If its a slipping clutch, it will just slip again, rather than slipp all the way up to 5g, then bite and decrease revs by 1g. Have you tested the clutch for slip?
Cant believe im still a member here.

Yea, i doubt it'd be the clutch, put your foot down in 2nd gear and it takes off. If it is the clutch slipping i'd have thought when you did this the RPM would rise but you wouldn't gain any accleration, also i'd hear the engine pitch change as it came under more load when it gripped.

As for bills; Avoid:
entries found for avoid.

1. To stay clear of; shun.

I do alot of shunning of bills.
