Turboing a N/A 3sge.

Postby Adydas » Sun Oct 01, 2006 5:11 pm

My issue is the Idle up, im using a turbo manifold and throttle body but ive found the idle up wont fit as it would hit on the cam cover.

Im using a Aftermarket ecu so can i just block up the hole for the idel up or does it need to operate? ( ie the ecu cant compensate without it? )

The only problem ive found with no cold idle up is the car always stalls if the battery is a bit down and the alternator is in charging.

Otherwise just give it a little throttle on startup and its fine.

A Gen3 3sg't'e will stall intermittently when coming off the throttle without one, I speak from my experience unfortunately as after my engine went back in the bypass mechanism had siezed.

idle up is for babies... or just 3s.
itbs on any motor doesn't seem to need idle up, or stock manifold on 4age.

how can you stall a motor on standard ecu?

Do it the Akane way, drill a hole in the butterfly to let some air in for idle!
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.
