How to fix broken rear crank shaft bearing...

Postby MOLLY » Tue Oct 24, 2006 7:40 pm

where the gearbox goes into the engine, on a 4k, can the bearing be replaced or does it require parts of the engine to come off?

Thanks

In the engine, where the crank shaft rear oil seal is.

Can replace it, assuming you mean the spigot bearing that presses into the flywheel. Easiest way is to take the flywheel off and bash it out with a hammer and punch/screwdriver/whatever. Just tap the new one back in to the same place. New ones are only like $6 or something stupidly cheap.

Um, they are actually in the end of the crank so removing the flywheel does nothing does it?
