Toyota Rota? Hey it rhymes :)

Postby DriftSpecStarlet » Thu Jan 18, 2007 10:26 pm

Ive got this new thing called the Toyota Rota :)
2E-ELU 1295cc Engine Fuel Injected
Its idling at 1.5 grand and sumtimes it pulses from 1 - 1.5grand...
Ive dubbed it "The Slow Rota"
I have cleaned the TB and checked the Throttle Cables all tight and what not,
all i can think of is that the Sensor mite be had it?
Anyone help me out it would be real nice,
and is there a way to Manually lower my Idle cause we aint all loving a high revvin engine at the lights :P especially with no exhaust on at the moment,
Cheers Ben.

could be your throttle position sensor or map sensor, they're the only sensors I can think of that would cause it. but i would be looking for vacuum leaks, or a faulty auxilary bypass valve first...

Okay i tightened the Bolt ontop of the TB and its brought its idle down to about 900 when hot, 1500 when cold, but the need seems to bump around... like its not a smooth clean idle its rough and moves around -50/+50 rpm
