1jz/2jz cam covers swappable?

Howdy. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if its an easy job putting a stock 1jz-gte cam cover on a 2jz-gte (or vice versa)? Are the bolt holes in the same place? do the cams clear ok etc? Im not worried about the crankcase vents being different

Anyone got a pair of stock 1j cam covers they wanna flick cheap?

I know its not likely anyone has done this but just thought i'd ask.

Gene, I have rather large doubts about them being swappable.

Once the rain actually clears and I can get to my car I'll double check for you as I've got both 1 and 2J covers at home.

I actually think that they are swappable - the gaskets are certainly the same and Im fairly sure the boltholes etc all fit too

Just have to be careful swapping between gte and ge as the ge manifold runs across the rockercovers and the ge covers are the right shape to give clearance.

I did have a set iof 1jz-gte covers but im pretty sure they went to Oizo....

yeah i'm pretty sure they are swappable, 1JZ n/a and 2JZ n/a are swappable

Hrmmm alright thanks Thads I'll get in contact with Adrian and see if his are still lying around so I can put them next to each other and find out for sure.

Thanks for the input lads - i want to put some 1jz-gte ones on my 2jz-gte, with a custom alum coilpack cover plate.

If you get the chance to look into it hanre, i'd really appreciate it

Or if someone wants to make their 1j look like a 2j i could do a swapsies i guess

If I can get in touch with Adrian so I can borrow his I'll check.
Otherwise like I said we'll have to wait for a day when it's actually not pissing down outside for me to be able to take the covers off of the car to have a look for you.

Either way, I'll let you know if I find a resolution...
