I remember when I destroyed my big end bearings on my 4age. Intially didn't make a sound when the engine was cold (oil was thick) but progressivly became louder as the oil beacame thinner. And yes it did sound like the noise was coming from the head but I was mistaken when I dismantled the bottom end.

If you keep driving it you will have to replace the crank and a rod and bearings.... and maybe the block too if it throws a rod.

Case of if you have to ask, you probably don't know how.
Guess a better question would be do you want to learn to do it or pay someone...
If you learn to do it, probably looking at:
Big end bearings ~80-100
Plus some gasket goo for the sump. New oil, new filter.
Can get away with doing it in the car, dropping off sump, undo big ends, slide piston up bore, new bearings on, bolt back together. repeat 3 more times. then goo up sump and botl on.
Or if your paying labour, add hundreds.
