1ggte head studs.

Postby mjrstar » Thu Jul 12, 2007 8:16 am

are these re-usable, i'm building a fresh engine (without a manual) and hav not been able to find out weather these are a single use or re-usable. the torque settings do not state 'torque to yield' which leads be to believe i can re-use them.
Does anyone have the manual and cold check this for me. failing this the 4agze manual probably states the same process...
Thanks
Matt

are they torque to "x" setting or are they torque then 90 + 90

all toyota bolts that are torqued by degrees are plastic region

So don't reuse them.

i dont think you can reuse them is they are strech bolts (have 90 degree rotation) when we did the head on mine we had to replace them and the my mates at the workshop checked with toyota and they told us to replace them.

it appears int the manuals above that the 4age are torque to yield and the 1g is a straight torque. i think the ultimate would be to run head studs instead of the bolts.
