a decent tune with a good ecu is what will make your engine last or blow up in your face.....
Save your $ you will find a lem or g3 for 1300? or less

Cheap and turbo conversion dont go in the same sentance if you want it to last longer then a week or actually go faster then your standard motor.

I'd agree with that, Turboing and cheap don't go together.

Spend your money on a ECU like a G3 or even a V5 if you can find one, it will give best results and the ability to change with different set ups.
You could even use it to run the std engine and see what you get.

My Link V5 doe's awsome job on my silvertop turbo, I built the engine on the cheap (No labour cost's and find the bargins of Trademe) and it still cost me between $10-$12 grand.

You will spend $500 easy on tuning.
