850 injectors too big for application?

Postby gasman » Wed Jul 25, 2007 8:16 pm

i found these:

big boys

and im wanting to use them on my 8.9:1 4agze bottom end with blacktop head turbo engine.

aiming for around 200+kw atw

for the price they are cheap as our dollar is quite high right now and roughly equates to 450 shipped. smaller flowing injectors seem to be even more expensive such as:

these

my concern is that they will be too big and the car wont idle well or at all,

whether it will idle will depend on the computer and how well it's tuned. look at it like this, i'm running 550cc injectors and want 250kw atw. bazda runs 800cc injectors and has 330kw atw with room to play

my reasoning behind the bad idle is that since the injector is so large that even the smallest pw from the ecu to injector will flow too much fuel and that fuel wont be as fine a mist as it could be since fuel press will be low at idle.

what duty cycle are you at now with the 550's? much room left to play with?

dont know, it's being tuned on saturday. i'm runnng base pressure of 50psi though, so the flow will be around 600ish. in theory there should be plenty of fuel for what i'm wanting

i was planning to run a link plus g2 but after talking to a guy from nzefi a lem g3 will be sufficient. the link seems to be able to do quite a bit for its price i reckon anyways.

that guy on ebay also has these:
set 1

set 2
