The pedal felt really dead and you had to give them a decent push in order to stop the car. It almost felt like they weren't power assisted (it had front discs so I'm sure they were).
I have owned and ae92 FXGT and Trueno and, while I'm aware that these both had 4 wheel discs, the brakes on those were soooo much better than the car we test drove.
She probably doesn't want to buy either a FXGT or Trueno as she isn't really interested in performance and wouldn't be keen to pay the ridiculous insurance premiums they seem to charge for those cars.
So, finally, my question is: can anyone tell me if the brakes are the same on all the non-FXGT/Levin/Trueno ae92 Corollas?? I thought maybe it might just be NZ new ones since it seems they came out with pretty budget specs in all other areas.
I presume the next model came with better brakes so if all ae92s aren't going to be much good then we might have to look at the newer, and more expensive, cars.
Apologies for the long post!
