CANT START MY 4AGTE

Postby tsoob » Mon Dec 03, 2007 9:15 pm

Can anyone help me? i was talking to mechanic who was going to come help me to start my car, but he didn't show up. I need the help of someone who has a timing light and a fuel pressure gauge with a little experiacne in starting a fresh engine. I can provide beer/weed or what ever in return for the favour, im really pressed for time as i dont have my company car any more and have had no joy from my non mechanic mates, would really appreciate it pm if you can help.
A huge thankyou to toyspeed

disconnect the return, either after the regulator or at the tank end, turn the key and see if fuel comes out

or fill the intake with engine start, it will fire and run on it alone for a few seconds. will confirm that timing and spark is correct. just keep a fire extinguisher handy.

i had a problem with flat fuel which stopped my engine starting after a long hibernation.

I'd take a stab in the dark and assume he doesn't literally mean fill it, either

Check there's actually fuel flowing through the system before you do that, though.

haha yes not literally. a few seconds spraying will do it.
be careul as its damn explosive and if you have any pool at the bottom of the intake and your timing is out, it will blow it back out the intake in a fireball. trust me, dry powder is a bitch to get out of an engine bay

update, there is definitly fuel fuel coming out after the regulator, so not sure, i am running resistors to the injectors, so they are low impednce you can hear that they are firing, i am starting to think it is a wiring problem have been on the microtech forums and web sites and have found a few people have had issues wehre the loom from the factory wasn't wired up correctly so we are having to redo the cas, does any one have a wiring diagram to suite a ae92 afm version of the 4agze with the wire colours for the cas? other than that it should go also if anyone has a wiring diagram for a tps off a bigport 4age (blue top) atm the thig is wired to be switching type not a variable so it senses that it is on.
