autogauge 2" smoke series wiring

Postby levinguy » Sat Jan 05, 2008 1:29 am

long story short got a couple of gauges, no wiring with them (water temp, oil pressure)
two sets of wires one short set, one long, have searched the net couldn't find anything, not even on the autogauge site.

short wires are::
black, orange, and red, - black has been earthed, and red to 12v, lites up the gague

long wires are:
black, red, and green

any ideas what the other wires go to? perhaps someone with the same gauges can check for me?

they are not the type that have different colours either

thanks!

did they come with the appropriate sender units? or have you just got the guages,

worthless if you have just brought the guages, generally tend to be stolen if thats the case.

different story thou if you ahve the sender units

i think from memory of installing a few gauges in my brothers car the orange wire go to a light switch to either dim them or make them brighter at night time? just try it out. the long wires probably go to power earth and signal.

check out autoguages website or try ringing pioneer autoparts in auckland for a diagram,

should be

switched + supply
constant + supply
earth
wire to sender unit
supply from light circuit
and possibly earth for light circuit

when it comes to hooking up the light wiring be careful. i know of a few people that have had a few troubles and killed a few things and lost all dash lights etc
