Postby dvmv_kim » Fri Jan 18, 2008 3:25 pm

i posted up before saying my car overheated then coolant was dripping out in the middle somewhere i had a look and i cant really see cause of the brace thats holding the engine will anyways i filled the radiator up with water and it just drips water constant went for a 10minute drive to see if would over heat, temp was normal then parked the car up and the water started to drip a bit faster after that drive. any ideas? or shall i take it to the garage and see how much it would cost?

just wondering 2 weeks ago i did put new coolant in the radiator and maybe it was too strong or too weak? so it might cause it to leak? just a suggestion

theres alot of places for water to leak on an engine, if its from the engine (rather than the radiator) somewhere it'll be the waterpump (mildly expensive) or some random heater hose / water line. (not so expensive).

coolant strength (or lack of) wont cause leaks in the time frame you are looking at, although lack of inhibitor will cause rust in pipes / water galleries in the long term.

half coolant half water is a good mix.
