radiator question

Postby NOLAW » Fri Jan 25, 2008 2:07 pm

i have a custom radiator and have just had an outlet modified and am just worried about the bit thats been welded on being to short for a hose and clamp to be fitted, iv drawn a illustration below showing how the outlet goes and a measurement (overall veiw is from the top/looking down)

basically what im wondering is will i get a hose and clamp on here sweet and is there a chance of it poping off when in use?

cheers

does seem a bit short,
as sergei said if there is a rib it should be ok if you use a thin hose clamp.
if not take it back,

the rib is about half way, what are the chances of the hose blowing off if i seal and clamp it on to the outlet?

if the clamp is positioned after the rib (further in), and the hose has some slack it should be fine. Use screw on type of clamp (not spring).

that should be plenty, the water lines don't have a massive amount of pressure. but it seems a bit weird with the rib in the middle...

i've got plenty of water hoses without ribs at all and never had any leak / pop off
