Smallport into an AE82 - Need wiring info

Postby pc » Sun Feb 10, 2008 8:34 pm

I have recently aquired a smallport 4AGE from a wrecked AE92 and want to put it in an AE82 that I have.
Bolting it in doesn't seem to be a problem, but the wiring seems to be completely different. All of the plugs are different on the engine looms and so are the plugs/sockets on the ECU.

Has anyone done this or have any idea which would be the easiest way to modify the engine loom to make it work?
I'm no auto sparky and could probably figure it out eventually... but if anyone has an idea how to do it simply, any input would be appreciated.

Also if someone has some reliable pin out diagrams of both ECUs that would also be useful.

Most people just swap the bluetop electrics (dizzy, injectors, ecu etc) onto the redtop.
But id say youd get more power if you rewire the loom and run the redtop ecu etc

Do you have a loom that will plug into an AE82?

I have a smallport, loom, & ecu... The problem is that the looms can't be just swapped.
