Stuck bolts

Postby MR2SIK » Thu Mar 27, 2008 7:39 pm

In the process of removing my downpipe to get it fixed, a couple of the bolts holding it to the turbo are pretty stuck.
Anyone got any tricks to how to remove them? I sprayed crc on them and tried... So I sprayed alot of crc on them and am gongi to have another crack at it later on. Just wondering if anyone has any easy fixes

Yeah, repco should stock it. I think from memory its like $20 retail, and you'll wish you'd bought it before you started.

If they're really tight, shock treatment - i.e. hit them with a BIG hammer, fast and sharp.

But being on a turbo, probably not a good idea :P

just use 6 point sockets, less likely to shift on the head than 12 points.

if all else fails heat is your friend.

How good are powerbuilt tools? Thinking I may buy a spanner tomorrow, but at $30 each it better not bend out of shape too easily

are you giving them a sudden whack? or are you gradually putting more pressure on,

powerbuilt has lifetime warranty correct?
