Beams 3SGE - turbo questions.

Postby Boosted_162 » Wed May 28, 2008 8:51 pm

Hey,
Im just starting to spend money on on my SW20. Now my current engines definately gunna need some work (bearings need changed, and is probably needs a freshen up. has done 200k). Now ive been tempted by Markku's (ex Daves) Beams 3SGE. What is the availability of aftermarket parts to turbo these motors? Forged pistons/rods/headgaskets etc? Im gunna be using a larger turbo, hoping to make about 400hp i guess.

And im guessing i wont be able to use my 93+ 3SGTE PowerFC?

Thanks :)

All the 3SGTE rods and pistons should work fine, oughtnt be valve clearance issues with the lower comp pistons.

I've been thinking about this for the mrs caldina wagon, I'm a long way off doing it yet but i would imagine that the parts available would be quite common, what with plenty of aftermarket 3sgte stuff kicking around and plenty of beams altezzas getting the treatment iirc.
