who has removed power steering from there corolla

-can you get a non ps rack from a xl type corolla?

or
-can you run a feed loop for fluid like they do on the hondas to get rid or any surges from a ps rack without oil

unless.. anyone has any issues that a fx-gt needs to have ps?

dedicated trackcar also

cheers

I pretty sure that Motorsport NZ requires a powersteer rack to work, otherwise you must run a non powersteer rack.
If it's a trackday car then it's your decision...

I would do it the right way not the easy way.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

There is no requirement in Schedule A requiring a power steer rack to remain operative.
In our EP81 rally car we removed the power steer pump & lines but left the original rack with a little fluid inside and a loop between the outlets.
Worked fine like that for years.
Not sure if I'd want to do it to a Corolla circuit car though but each to their own.

Have the words "weight reduction" not entered your head Warwick?
Did that to my fxgt, saved a s(%t load of weight and you don't really have to struggle to turn the wheel,
Get a non-power steer rack and possibly will need column to suit it too, my ae82's had different lengths of steering column between power and non-power steer racks

AW11 rack might fit - it's all manual. If it's too wide it might only be the tierods that need changing to bring the length down.
See ya
