GTT mirror demister diagram.. fivebob?

Postby cedwards » Sun Jul 26, 2009 5:53 pm

Mirror demister's keep blowing their fuse in 98 GTT, It doesn't happen instantly but within a week she'll stop working.

Wondering if any awesome peron has a wiring diagram for me to browse..

And if possible a even more awesome person could suggest any potential weakpoints I could investigate.

Thankyou

Wiring diagram won't be of much use to you and there's no diagnostic info in the workshop manual that I can find.

Wiring consists of Battery->Fuse->Relay->Mirror Heaters->Earth. The only thing I can suggest is measuring the resistance of the heater elements, wires should be Red-Black (power in) & White Black(earth)

No info in the manual other than a wiring diagram which shows fuse->relay->inverter/Rear socket.

Maybe a problem with the relay?

Many thanks fivebob.

Looks like i'll have to have a play,
The only problem with measuring the resistances is that the short is intermittent, which makes me think it may be more a exposed wire that is grounding over bumps etc,
