dodesnt really bother me at the moment, i drive 1of 2 1.6L 4age pwered cars, as long as i dont thrash them all the time (which is hard) i can get 600km out of $55 worth of gas, so costs me about $30-40p/w between work and home 8)

You turboed guys should consider buying a fuel efficent well tuned 4age pwered car for weekly driving :wink:

yeash i remember the days of deisel car driving, cheap at thre pump - but when you work out the extra rego costs, Servicing, and RUC then it actually doesnt work out all that cheap :wink: - your Fx would probably cost less to run :idea:

RUC, optional.

Rego is only $70 extra a year. Or 52l of 96 these days.

Servicing is cheap if you have a brain and a set of spanners. If it needs major mechanical repair then a decent second hand turbo motor is only $900.

Fuel can be free if I use a waste product at work and a little uppercylinder lube for the pump.

The car saves me around $25 a week all up if I buy diesel.

RUC optional? Since when?

I remember reading some car mag, may have been AA or autocar? They did comparisons and most diesels worked out costing more, the costs also included the xtra you generally pay for a diesel vehicle to start with.

For the general joe public who doesnt know what a spanner is and gets the car serviced when they should it apparently costs more :wink:

IMO from owning a 89 corolla 5 speed 1.8l diesel wagon, if you can service them yourself, Get cheap filters/oil/sparkplugs :lol: etc they are a lot cheaper - mind you RUC were alot cheaper back then :?

You can take certain steps to minimise the amount of RUC you want to pay. Not advisable for the majority tho.

The GSR wasn't tooo bad on gas as I had enough restraint to not lean on the right pedal too much(a habit I picked up from the RX7).

Pulsar seems easier on gas so thats not so bad.

Yeah thats true but they also earn a better packet than us. My mate over there gets 20 Quid and hour and thats like over $50 an hour after conversion so they still get a good deal.

true but keep in mind that most things over there cost more than here, food housing etc thats the downside to earning more money over there

I would say its relative so cost of living is about similar to here , even better.

Dollar for Dollar its the same.. Any skilled person can get good quid over there and live quite comfortably over there. All my mates on their O.E say quality of living is better than here. The only crap thing is the weather.

And for China sucking up the resources , remember its the Americans who are taxing the arse out of the world for petrol.

HAHA...fuel prices sure suck, but I do about 50km per week un my 200sx, my daily driver a Daihatsu Mira...800cc can't really use too much gas...plus I have a work fuel card...and when I want to have some fun...i take the bike out for a ride...

Hrmmm...paid 94$ to fill the Soarer up the other night and it still had an eight of a tank left in it.

Lasts just about 540 or so Ks before needing a refill. I'd be very surprised if I can get 1 tank of gas to last me a whole of 7 days too :cry:

it costs me $95 to fill the tank in my diamante... and it only just lasts a week.... thats the downside of a small motor in a big heavy car...





that and the fact that its slow.... :?
