Yup, for extreme cases.

I'm completely for 'life' meaning LIFE though. And I'm for putting them to work too. It seems NZ is completely missing the point, we're supposed to be putting people off going to prison...

what if they get out work and kill some more like kill your mum and stuff you would deside you want to kill him
anyway I think they should put the murders in jail and do work in jail and little pay. pay for there own food so they won't be lazy. it likt e a different world.

The way i see it whatever a crim does to somebody else (i spose even an animal too) , if they are caught they should have the exact same thing done to them :twisted:

Rape = Castration and life inprisonment.

All the rest of the crims should be shackled and made to do hard labour. NO PAY. Their reward can be some porage (sp?) and a cup of water at the end of the day.

the NZ government is too PC to allow something as extreme as the death penalty to be re-introduced. Considering that a lot of crime is not exactly penalised to a greater extent and the penalties are rather lame anyway, i'd say that harsher punishment shuold be considered (as long as human rights violations are conveniently ignored for the harsher punishments..)

Read Holes the book. Thats would it should be like kind of...

None of this going into jail - getting 3 full course meals a day, getting educated - comes out with a degree, sexual pleasures etc etc

I havent read all the babble in this thread but there are countries where it is proven that harsh penalties work..

other than NZ where you get a ankle bracelet after you kill some one, in Dubai the penalty for stealing is the loss of a hand - guess its so they wont be able to do it again.

Maybe if you get done for something like rape they should be the loss of their diddle

But all this P.C bullshit about breaching prisioners rights pisses me off... They wouldnt be there without taking away the rights of someone else, so that should make them exempt from having rights of their own.. :evil:
