XR6-T or XR8

Postby blackie » Mon Feb 23, 2004 1:13 pm

would u prefer the turbo six or the classic eight?
or a holden

i go for the 8, they just sound so mint, plus effortless torque from like idle.

gotta go for the turbo, ain't a fan of 8's anyway. i heard someone in aussie redid the wastegate setup on it, can't remember the power figure, but it easily blitzed the v8's, and still had plenty more to give. that, and the turbo i'm putting on my supra is the smaller brother of the turbo they use on the ford as well

If i had to have a Ford
It'd have to be the XR6T
There are companies in Oz getting over 350kw out of them so itd have to be the choice of the fords
And i hate to admit it but they do put out more power than than Holdens (At the wheels)
But I would like the exhaust note of an 8 (But thatd have to be a Holden or Lexus 8)

Logan
(Please dont hold this against me I only chose one ford against another  )

gimme the 6 anyday...

Anything that can weigh as much as it does, running off about 6psi and still keep up with an 8 ownz ur ass.

In aussie theyve got an auto XR6 - T running 10's already, and thats on the factory internals, so i reckon u could get about 600 horse before u have to start playing with pistons and shit.

Have you driven either of them? The XR6 has ball ripping torque from anywhere on the rev range.

Well apparently the V6T had to have the boost wound down for marketing purposes because it shat all over the V8 . . . but I would still rather have the V8  8)

more like 6-7psi
and they detuned it to find the best compromise between power and reliability, read: ford were very naughty when they made this car, the gearbox can't handle the power that the turbo engine produces, hense they had to cut the power back from what they had predicted to stop a flood of warrenty claims
