I think it's only fair that it's held down south this year! There's been a positive response from northerners, so I don't think we'll have a problem with travelling!

I like the idea of taking the total ferry/accomodation cost and dividing it evenly among everyone, then it saves the people taking cars some money.

Yeah big deal.. what?? 4 chchers flew on a plane? that dont in my mind justify 80 auckland / hammy / wellington ppl combined ppl.. going to chch.. as i bet.. 6 months or a year later.. MM in auckland ALL the chch ppl that Go .. Wont come to auckland...

So to make it a Long time thing where all will go.. all is resonably fair.. I think seems were a club, we should work together.. To help each other out.. ( i mean Member members, Not like random ppl that have been around 4 months..)

say 20 ppl from chch welly and akld.. i can list more or less even numbers of each from every area.. sorta thing.. So have them work together.. ( not just this year.. all years.. seems its a on GOing thing we have started.. )

So make it ppl we know and trust.. i know i would subsadise al, Dissident from chch etc.. Coming to akld next year.. if they lookd after the long travlers this year?..

its just an idea.. No one needs to get there nickers in a twist..

Can use multi way convos on MSN to communicate.

Commitee members being eligible are members who are active and attend meets etc.

hmm....to be honest, i voted for the south island..only ever been there once and it was an awesome place..so much better than wellington and auckland..
me and some mates did a road trip last year in winter for a ski/snowboard trip and we ended up going down one side of the island as far as queenstown and then back up the other side..we used my mates bongo van ..and eached chipped in some dollars..i think all up i paid $600 including my share of petrol, tent accomodation was like $5 per night or something and food..and this was like a 10 day trip, me, my mate, his brother..and his brothers mate.. and of course..help from random friends in various places..like nelson and chch..

but having never been to a MM before..i wouldnt have a clue on the costs
but yeah..im all go for the south island at this stage..depends on what happens throughout the year with my course dates etc..

The idea of mega meet is to meet other people. If its held in the North island, you will predomanantly get NI's. The same people at the same meets. Just as if we held a south island seperate one.

If on alternate years we have it in different islands, then one year the south islanders are having to foot a bigger bill if they want to go, and the next year its the north islanders.

Sure, not everyone will be able to afford to swap islands, but if its a once a year thing, then I think it would be worth the effort.

I know only a few of us made the effort to come up last year, and if it was in the SI I know there would only be a small number of people attending from NI also. But if there were meets for each island, only the same people would go each time.

If its held in the south island, and you choose not to come, then you will have to wait till the next one is organised in the North.

At the end of the day, how much extra is it going to cost you to come down here? 2-300?? Yes. A little more fuel, a ferry ticket, and a bit more time. START saving now if thats an issue.

Stop being so North Islanderish?Aucklanderish and come see the rest of your country!!
