wiring in AE85& AE86 boot hatch

just swapped the crappy rusty AE85 hatch on my 85 for a AE86 one,

now i have more wiring than needed,
all i need to do now is wire up the demister, but on the original hatch wiring there is only one wire for this, and on the new one there is two, \

anyone know what these are?

Im too lazy to go look at mine... but if I remember right then there are two wires, but they both do the same thing... so hook them both up... Again, IF I remember right they're both thick with black coloured insulation.

could it be for a boot light? ive been told that AE86's have a boot light and AE85's dont ( i think thats what th old owner of my car said anyway )

could be that the one wire system is earthed to body and the twin wire is not?. Pull out a multimeter and see what feed they are getting with demister set on.

1 is an eart, other power, mine is earthed to the hatch
