Resetting the ECU won't do all that much. Might change a couple of things, but don't expect the car to try and lift off the ground or anything ;)

ECU is reset by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes (around 15 mins is ample).

You shouldn't need to get the retuned to change to 96. In fact, why don't you give 98 a go and see how it likes that? My 1989 GTZ LOVES 98 over 91 and 96 :)

octane boost is all cept dat it's expensive and useless for just daily driving. Ur ECU won't need to be reset with just a new intake there's not really any point since it is such a small modification.

VVT lights are basically just there to show u when u hit VVT and are absolutely useless and hurt ur eyes if you use bling LED's :D :D :D

Ask FXGT|BOY how much his eyes hurt after driving with dat bleedin light all night :P :P

resetting the ecu will not do anything other than clear any fault codes stored in it. as far as resetting it to gain performance that is total nonsense.
if you reset it and notice a change then something previously triggered a fault causing the ecu to go to a 'safe' mode. it will more than likley happen again unless the original problem is fixed.
ecus run within set parameters and will automaticly compensate for filters etc to the extent the ecu can handle. you do not need to rest the ecu
