ke25 5spd and centre console

just wondering if the orginal ke25 centre console will still be all right to use with a 4k 5spd box. will the starlet box be better than the corolla box for this or is the starlet box to short, i would perfer a 5spd but will stick with the 4 if it meens losing the console because its totally mint and original no ones hacked it yet.

Also what would be good to get done in the way of head work on my 4k when it gets the rebuild. the engine will have cam, exhurst and carb mods

You need the Starlet box, or at least the rear extension housing to put onto a Corolla box. Both boxes are the same length, just the shifter position that is different.

Cheers purple how much cutting is involved with the starlet box or does it fit the original hole

Should go straight in. I used a KE20 4 speed to replace the 5 speed in my Starlet when it blew second gear. Lever was in the exact same place.
