how do you rebuild a clutch slave cylinder?????

Postby rxtoy » Wed Apr 21, 2004 10:16 pm

just got one tonight, at the right price (cheers Chris), but the outer rubber boot has a big tear in it and i'm assuming the inner seals (are there inner seals? there must be?) are pretty past it too. where can i get a rebuild kit and is it hard? or will i kick myself after i realise how easy it is?

cheers,
Matt

oh yeah, its for a T50

If its not all scratched then yes...you will kick yourself how easy it is. In saying this I was going to rebuild my one for the supra today, but found when ya weigh up the cost of re-kitting and the cost of a new replacement its seriously not worth the hassle. Just get a new one their cheep as chips.
I think I payed something like $80 for a new master and slave cylinder for the supra. thats cheep for a brand new no hassles item!

they can be rebuilt very cheaply also, I had to rebuild one on my rt40, cost 14 dollars for the kit and to have the thing honed (not wasnt worn enough to warrent boring or sleeving) they havent different colour oversize pistons, usualy stock item. Got my parts and hone done at chch brake and clutch.

yeah, but when i rung BNT today, they've got one for 40 and thats before i get my navy discount, usually about 20% on stuff like that. how easy??? and what would i have to buy? i'll bring it along and if its no good i'll pick the one up from BNT on saturday.

oh yeah, i got the wrong crossmember for the celica so might not be able to put that 2T in on the weekend. i still want to rip that V6 out though so i can sell the bloody thing
