Mods to a 1500cc DOHC Cynos

Postby www.mods.co.nz » Fri Apr 23, 2004 1:20 pm

Hi guys, my mate wants to know what mods he can do to his cynos 1500cc Dohc:
currently pod filter, cat removed titanium muffler, cold air induction.

Probly not turboing or transplant as he wants to keep this engine just spent $1700 getting rebuilt.

Maybe cams, extractors?

Any help appreciated

Looks like I'm not the only guy that owns a Cynos....*phew* :P
Question: with the pod, does the rubber/plastic hose get removed an replaced, or did he just use that standard one?
Cheers

He got the muffler shop to make up a pipe which fitted into the end of the black hose off the intake and then the pod goes on the end.

Which version of the 5e is it? The better one is the 5e-fhe, slightly better cams and higher compression.

Why the hell did he spend all that money on a rebuild when he could've gotten his hands on a 4EFTE which would've pretty much bolted straight in or made a 5E/4EFTE hybrid.
If were him I'd leave it how it is, trade it in on something performance orientated or save for a turbo conversion.
