AE111 - removing the rear spoiler

Postby Bling » Sat Apr 24, 2004 3:22 pm

yo yo,

anyone got experience with removing the factory rear spoiler off an ae111 levin/trueno? I get it unbolted, but don't want to pull it the wrong way and break it!!

any help would be appreciated, as i want to try it without the spoiler,

cheers

PS. this is not a "should I do it, or shouldn't I" kinda post, i just would like to know HOW to get it off :P

so i shouldnt say that it looks like crap without a spoiler then? :P

you replacing it with another spoiler? or just taking it off.

I wouldnt mind seeing some levins with some aftermarket spoilers.

bah everyones got an ae111 now, no one had one when i got mine. now everyone taking their spoiler off like mine. just pull up on it while haking away at the black spongy stuff thats holds it on with a boxcutter. make sure u REALLY wanna do it cos it's a real mission to get all the spongy shit off. i just sent mine to the panel beater and got the holes welded up and the boot resprayed.
meh.....

Removing rear spoiler

Postby DOHMAN » Sun Apr 25, 2004 3:03 pm

if you take it off you will have to take it to the panelbeater cause the got some pretty big holes in them and you wouldnt want to put those little plugs in these are big holes so i changed my mind anyway everybody takes there spoiler off be different leave it on.

hehe, that's why i jumped on the first 111 i was with a TRD spoiler (not the BZR wing) :). still not many of those around and certainly looks different from the stds.

Join the club. I was once unique, now just mainstream  in need of doing something a little diff to mine... hmm just need a good kit

I did see something interesting the other day. There is some guy crusing round palmy in a grey AE111, with a GT wing attachted on top or in front of the factory spoiler. ie both spoilers are on there. Now that is uncle bens... Looks hideous
