2pac told me that Ford is 'ahead of the game' cuz it made the GT40 and at one stage the AC Cobra which are cars that people should pay their 'respects' to, or should be 'capped'.

Holdens do not run "ford 9" Diffs" both Ford & Holden use a motorsport controlled diff in the Aussie V8 Supercar series. They also use the same contolled Gear box and suspension components.
Holden is a wholly owned subsidary of General Motors the biggest and Best Car Company in the World so why not as Ford does source engines and components globally :!: The only difference being Ford has only one Brand name 8O
Do you think the Ford BA, being the market "also rans" may have copied the "Holden VY" ,the Market leaders, Tail lights :?: Trends in the market place tend to flow on to different manufacturers hence the VY , BA similarities.

Toyspeeders...

You can't just say Holdens or Fords with no apparant reason...

I choose Ford for many decent reasons such as,

1) some of there legendary cars such as the gt40, mustang, cosworth xr6-t, shall i say more?

2) ford can manurfacture there own performance engines, I mean Holden has to thieve off chevy etc... how embarrasing

3) fords been around for over a century 8O , Holden the last 3 decades...

4)and basically... Id rather push a Ford than be seen driving a Holden haha

hey Scoty - fair comments but you have to compare Apples with Apples mate !
1.Holden is a wholly owned subsidary of the Worlds largest motor company GM. So when you say legendary cars like " GT40 , Mustang, Cosworth" were these bult in Australia - I don't think so ! So lets say Camaro , Corvette , Pontiac GTO , Calibra , Monaro, HSV !
2.Holden produce there own engines in Australia the 5.0L 308 still used in the V8 supercars. They also source out of America (as Ford Australia does) the 5.7L LS1 engine as fitted to Commodore.
3.As for History GM was founded in 1911 and Holden was making car bodies and components as early as 1908 with the first model Holden the 48 - 215 launched in 1948 - so thats a little more than 3 decades
4. Do you know what Ford stands for "Fix Or Repair Daily" say no more
Go the Holdens at Pukekohe and Go the Murph :!:

if we are talking about style in old cars, holden doesn't really make anything that looks good, sure maybe torana, but nothing really else. however on the other hand ford has: escort, cortina, anglia and capri's. also cobra's, mustangs, gt40's........and then within each of the first 4 there are several diff models all which are the shizel (well maybe not some but yout get the point)

i for got holden makes kingswoods hahaha 8O gutted

holden only makes one type of car just a family wagon oh like v8 super cars thing. where as ford to many such as rally v8's the other sports car races, i forget wat they called, nascar.....

pushrod 8O who must be gutted?? lol

oh did i mention who makes capri's hahahahahaha

oh and holden stands for "Hop Out Lil Darkie Engine's Nacked"

who else has noticed how many people are into fords now that they won the v8's. all the holden boys trying to be cool and just following the crowd.....oh dear

go murph but ford represent

Plus you go down the pub and the stereotypical holden driver sits down there swigging out of his large white trash stubbie, with his tight black jeans and white sneakers with a metelica t-shirt (not to mention the mullet!!) going on about his '88 VL commy! Hey hold on didnt they have a nissan engine in them???????? oh the shame, first nissan engines, then chev's

Old cars Capri007 - your missing the point Escort,Capri,Cortina,Anglia made in the UK - not Australia :!: Ford badged but Ford "International" Brand Name. Ford Australia subsidary of Ford. Holden subsidary of General Motors just different branding for Australia.
Monaros Old & New are a pretty good looking car  In the 4cyl line Gemini is a pretty cult old school Car. Calibra awesome. SS & HSV, Corvettes & Camaro's need I go on.
Hey nothing wrong with pushrods - Ford still use them too you know.
And thats very "Sterotypical" of Ford followers to knock the Holden Faithful and cars rather than put the case forward as to why "Fords" are better
Go the Holdens - after 6 years winning the V8 Super Car Series only fair that we gave Ford a break last year :D

Yeah, comes down to what you're talking about really. I know I'd take an XR6T over a VY without even blinking. Still support the race team, wouldn't mind an old Mustang though. But then again I'd take a 56 Chev over a Mustang any day too :) But then there are the 351 GTs :S

End of the day I say Holden, purely for the Supercars which is why I've got this name :D

oh ok i c. so are you are trying to tell me, holden is basically a sub company of chevrolet??? is that why they use their engines. i thnk the ford thing is a bit different. wat i think you are meaning is kind of like different franchises in different companys. eg McDonalds. they are still mcdonalds america as well as nz, they still make the same shit big mac's just in a diff country. similar to ford. anglia, escort, cortina and capri are still ford just made in a diff country

hey wat eva floats your boat, push rod is keeping it real i guess.

i forgot about gemini though, they are pretty cool, well i only really like the squarer ones not the older 70's izusu ones   lol

go on GTi you no old fords are the shit haha. its funny how when you cruise down the street you always hear little munters in real crap kingswoods yell out get a holden.........wat is up with those guys, they obviously no that they are not cool but still always yell out that sort of thing.
i think that HRT has hit the nail on the head, well very close to it anyway. i like fords, that's why i own one, but that doesn't mean i hate holdens. :) :) :)

however, the walkinshaw hit??????? wat is up with that???????? very dirty

na il just stop now. haha i like fords i think that is wat this pole is about.
good stuff guys

Yea you got it Capri. GM got it's fingers in a lot of Pies. Did you know they own 20% of Subaru and 80% SAAB.
Also beginning back in 89 they had some Model Sharing with "Toyota" the Toyota Lexcen (Commodore) , Holden Nova (Toyota Corolla) & Holden Apollo (Toyota Camry) This model sharing continued in Aussie up until 1995 :!:
Yea you get the same from Ford fans with mullets in old beat up falcon 500's   :!:
I've owned Fords the best being a 1972 Mk1 Escort 2 Door XL - 1600 bored out fitted with 82mm VW pistons, A2 cam, twin side draught Delorto's, fully balanced , ported polished head , extractors , 2" exhuast - (used to go like a scalded cat) :P work on the Bro in Laws Mustangs, work for Holden but never owned one and own 2 Toyota's
I guess at the end of the Day I love cars , Like "Holdens" but Love Toyota's even better and probably why we are here on this Forumn in the first place :o
