link vs linkplus vs microtech

Link & Microtech are similar, I sell,fit & tune both & to be honest I prefer the microtech over the link but that's just me. Feature wise they are similar, the new Microtech are supposedly 64bit etc. Price wise they are similar, the only real difference being support, but then if you buy a microtech from an Authorised distributor you can get support direct from Microtech, but genreally if you need the support you either don't know what your doing in the first place or else you are trying to do a complex install link a 5cylinder 25valve turbo which has different ignition patterns to anything most aftermarket ecu makers have seen. Choice is yours, Link is probably a better option going by the number of people here using them & the number of tuners out there, but in saying that I've seen similar performance to a link from a microtech or wolf etc.

Links are the shit they do the job, my cars done 40 000ks on 18psi and its not tuned properly

At the end of the day not all computers are created equal, but the guy/girl behind it will make a difference, so find a tuner you trust and run with what they recommend. My brother run a Link plus in his S14 made 220 rwhp @ 18psi pretty disappointing really with no other changes a week later on the same dyno with the same tuner he made 330 rwhp @18 psi … but running a LTX 8 !!!

no offence, but if thats true, that tuner is a monkey - either that or he doesnt know anything about tuning Links.
there is nothing in a microtech (or a Link for that matter) that will magically make 100hp more than the other, it all comes down to how they are tuned.

Non taken, I would be hesitant to say the tuner doesn’t know anything about links, and he also personally built and daily drives a 10s bat, but I agree there is not magic, the new computer and tune (as pointed out)helped release that power not make it, what I was trying to point out is use what the tuner is comfortable with!! There’s no point buying something no one can use like what I did buying an Altronic now I have to make a trip 1000K trip to the nearest tuner with the ability to use it .
I have no problem with link nor am I campaign against there computers I think thieve cam a long way with the link plus, but if you look back though NZPC to of the feature of the R33 below you will see there number defences between a link and a Motec which are substantial.

yeah motec's currently are a bit of a different story. however, with microtech bringing out their new computer, and Link with the 4Link around the corner, i would say they'll be up to speed.

realistically, any current computer from any manufacturer will do the job 95% of the time, it does just come down to the tune.

evo2nv, from personal experience Brent doesn't always do as good as job on customer cars compared to his batty, I wouldn't believe everything he tells you.
