I can't back it up 100%, but on the http://initialdx.vze.com/ forums it was mentioned, Tsuchiya won the JGTC in a Black '86. And then on another post, someone mentioned him and his NSX were in China for some competition.

sorry to be a dork and continue on the wrong path but best motoring raced two ae86's against an r34 gtr skyline and the 86's creamed it :D

again sorry for the hijack.

IMHO It's not generally a good idea (unless your loaded) to buy something of lesser spec with views to upgrade. It's the same with audio equipment, you could buy an ashton stack, then later on buy a marshall 4x12 cab. mite sound slightly better but it's still an ashton and you end up buying a different head anyway.

Ha, I talk a lot of shit when I get started eh, SORRRRRY

There's just not many AE86s around, not Hatchback's anyway, just Notchbacks, which I wouldn't mind.

But I prefer late model cars, an the R34 is one of my favourite cars.

I doubt i'll be getting a GTT R34 because they're "To powerful" in the eyes of my dad.
And he's only gona buy me something that's around 10K which NA Skyline's are around that straight from Japan.

Don't forget that drifting is about the drivers skills not the car, so you cannot base the performance of a car by the results of a drifters skills.

A pathetic driver in a good car will never beat a good driver in an underpowered car in a high technique sport like drifting.

I know that, that's why I don't want something like a Supra, with it's 3.0 Litre Twin Turbo engine, a little to powerful for a begginer.

I want something not to powerful, but still good, like an NA R34.

Hm, I don't like Supras.
The '92 and onward models look like someone's stuck a bicycle pump in their bumpers and blown them up.

Why not just buy something that YOU want instead of living under the thumb of your dad?

I have no job yet, he'll buy me an R34, but i'll have to get a job and buy a GT-T motor, which'll be quicker.

I'm also pondering an S15, because many people seem to think NA Skyline's a shit.

You have my heartfelt sympathy towards your catastrophic dillema.

If ya like R34's, who cares what others think, buy what ya like.

I think you may be halucinating, I'm not stupid enough to assume that I know more than someone I don't know, can't speak for Flawless.

My bad, I assumed that since your nic is GT-R Glenn, coupled with boasting typical of a GT-R owner, that you must own one :P.

Anyway , Im allowed to respond to comments made here just the same as you can ...:)

Indeed, but I'd appreciate some accuracy.

Details? :D.

LOL
Not sure if I fit "typical gtr owner"
Last time I ran my car at Taupo it was running .8 bar boost , that was at the Toyspeed open day ....Just been run in and untuned.
Its been tuned and its making silly amounts of power now :)
More than I thought it would ...
It handles very well, which is why it went so well before.
I dont want to be accused of boasting so I wont let on how much it has but im sure I could knock 3 seconds a lap off .....

Jeeeezuz... Enough with the childish flaming already.
The guy just wants to know about R34 Skyline's. He doesn't wanna know if he can get his ass whipped by an AE86, Supra, NSX or what not.
It's about what he wants. If you can't deal with that, then just bugger off.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Considering this is a Toyota forum, not a Nissan one, and considering about 85% of the members here love supra's ... I'd say you're looking in the wrong place
