Celica Gt-four 185 vs bz-levin

Postby footaction29 » Wed May 26, 2004 3:09 am

Stock for stock which would be the faster car here,0-60,quarter mile and drag race.I personally don't think that the bz should be faster but the celica is heavy,hard to say.

I always wonder how people can bring themselves to ask such questions when google will provide them with each vehicles power and weight...

And more so when there is a blatant difference between the vehicles ;-)

i reckon the levin probably would be out in the lead for a good while before the celica passed, i think the celica would start gaining once it got going a bit more, and besides i almost beat two different gt4's at meremere in my old AE92

To work it out:

http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/toyota/

gt-four: http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/5744/
(255 PS, 1390 kg)
-> 183 PS / ton

bz-g: http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/2947/
(165 PS, 1030 kg)
-> 160 PS / ton

Also consider that the 165 PS for the BZ-G is exaggerated. No idea whether 255 PS for the GT-FOUR is realistic though.

hahaha revhead. what I wanna know is why the hell footaction29 is posting this AGAIN after the 2 page thread already in this forum. Plus in that thread you said youa lready owned an ae101 with a blacktop 20v, and you wanted something faster.

You're not gonna get anything noticably faster from an ae111 20v due to it still being the same blacktop engine, so can you PLEASE stop wasting our time and do some research before you ask such stupid questions.

/Phew, there's goes my anger for the day, now sup TS'ers :P

footaction29 is talkin st-185 here so:

GT4 = 1460kg, 225 ps... 154 PS/ton

therefore theoretically the bz-g has the better power/weight ratio

anyone actually done a 1/4 in an ST185? Arent they supposed to do a 15.5 1/4? (factory spec)

Every BZ-G Levin i've seen has done at least a 15.4 1/4 mile!!

i found my 185 pretty shabby stock.the only ones i know of doing 1/4's r quite well modded tho and running decent times.id say it wuld be round a flat 15 stock , they arent really suited for drag racing from factory.
after a couple of basic mods to both tho gt4 wuld be well gone.

I don't really think too many people would be bothered about either of them stock cause if you really wanted to drag race them I think you would be more interested in the potenial of them. A GT-Four with an exhaust, air filter and 14 psi which would only cost about $800 would do low to mid 14's and with a downpipe and either an RC WTA or 185 with a front mount will do a high 13. And for another $750 for a turbo upgrade you could be running mid 13's like ALLFOURS. Or you could just rip all your $&#$% interior out like a mad man and run very low 13's. I hope ALLFOURS doesn't read this!!!

A can't see a Levin doing anything close to that without a full rebuild and a shit load of money piled into it.

i think its comparing stock with stock? If the GT-4 was modded then of course it would own (read: 2.0 turbo 4wd vs 1.6n/a)

But both stock i think it would make an interesting matchup :wink:

What I was getting at is what does it matter what they do stock. If the persons interested in comparing the performance, they would obviously be interested in building on there potenial.

I'd just go for the car that most suites me. If you don't mind paying $75-$80 for 450ks in a high quality car the Celica is better or if you want a $40 or so fillup with similar ks but don't mind a mid range quality car the Levin would be okay.

Bah it's not mad, it's fun fun fun :) If I had known the difference it would make, and how much looser it would make the car, I would have taken it all out the day I bought it :D
