Fitting Brake Pads

Postby Dave_106gti » Mon May 31, 2004 7:54 am

At the risk of sounding stupid how do I change the fron brake pads on my Levin BZ-R ( with super strut) ???

I had a look at it today and I couldnt figure it out!

Do I need to remove the calipers to fit the pads ? or is there and easier way?

Any advice appreciated
Thanks

you should be able to undo one of the bolts to the calliper (cant recall if its the top or bottom) and swing it out. Then just need to push the pistons back in and put in new pads.
dont even need to bleed, but its good practice when changeing pads.
Cant believe im still a member here.

nice one.

I was trying to get off the 17mm bolts that hold the caliper onto the disc but they werent budging!!

so if I just loosen the smaller bolts on the top of the caliper which are attached to the pistons that should do it ??

it should be the bottom bolt i think - a 14mm one - take it out and the caliper will hinge up.
