blacktop aftermarket extractors

Postby qik20v » Wed Jun 02, 2004 5:42 pm

has anyone actually bought and tested (on a dyno) any aftermarket extractors for a 4age blacktop?

or are the standard ones good enough that there is no point in buying aftermarket?

The factory ones are as good as they get short of paying a fortune for mandrel bent tuned length/volume extractors...

toyota have lots and lots of money to spend on research and development of theyre engines, your pretty much throwing your money away if you go buy some aftermarket jobs..

Those who have stated that the std item is good are quite correct. They're probably better than most after market extractors.
Like all OE they can be improved on & it needn't cost a fortune.

We sell a set of extractors for 20V which were locally designed, tested & manufactured.
They were designed for silvertop. We supplied the car for the dyno testing so we know the results are true & correct.
In a completely std silvertop AE101 these produced a 12hp gain.
In a customer's blacktop AE111 they produced 5hp.

so is it a good idea to replace the secondaries?

or just the piping after the final collector (the squished part)
