Mag Recoating?

Postby D-T » Thu Jun 03, 2004 9:08 pm

hey folks, did a quick search of the past threads and couldnt really see anything but...

was just wondering about getting mags coated/painted/polished etc?
had to get a new tyre put on one of my wheels due to a dodgy wheel alignment, and the guy that did it scratched my wheel up nasty like :(
so I am looking into getting them recoated? is it costly? Shadow Chrome would look pretty nice, but i was advised that it is rather expensive.

also, how is recoating done? do they polish the wheels down and repaint? or strip the paint? cheers for any help on this guys n gals!

mucho appreciato.

Where abouts are you? I'm keen to get my VX1s resurfaced/polished, previous owner had a couple run-ins with kerbs I think... :? :( Im sure they'll look much nicer after a little work... or even better... chromies... mmm... blinga...
I knew of a couple places around here in Palmy that do this sorta work, but can't recall who/where they were...

i had a chat to top town here about getting some damage machined out of my mags (not chrome) and they said it will cost about 60-100 per rim.
