Splines

Postby crispy'86 » Sat Jun 12, 2004 12:58 pm

The AE86 T50's have 22 splines on output, TE71 have 20 spline pre 82, 83 TE71 have 22 splines output, i've got one in my AE86 out of an 82/83 TE71 Sprinter and driveshaft hasn't been changed. Had to compare it a while ago with a 20 spline yoke and didn't fit the output on g/box in car

they're all T50's (T40's look the same too), just the earlier one's had a 20 spline output and the AE86 one's (i'm pretty sure they were AE86 only) were 22 spline and they're meant to be stronger. i think the TE7* one's would have the same length driveshaft (based on the same platform???) so if you've got a 20 spline output on your T50 try and find a driveshaft out of one of those,

cheers
Matt
