Postby NTMID8 » Mon Jun 14, 2004 4:37 pm

Who's got a T78-33D on their 3ltr supra and what it like response wise.
When do you get decent boost levels ie 1 bar?
What are your opinions on using one on a street car?

helps to say what model supra, instead of just the 3lt one, there were two. the mk3 7m's i'd say it's way too big, but it would work well on a mk4 2jz, but i don't think it's ball bearing, so lag will be a big problem. as for street use, i'd tend to say it's just too big.

Which one, he's got half a dozen most of the time dont he?
I wouldn't mind going for a ride in a 600+rwhp car to see how it behaves. Think you could arrange a meeting?

Not likely - I've only met him twice, and the ~600rwhp one isn't reg'd afaik.

* ponders

Know what? I no longer know anyone - at least in our area who have anything like that...

The guy who has our old levin race car has 600 hp at the engine on a 1JZ.
Binned the twin turbo setup we has and fitted a garret BB turbo. Gt45 or something from memory.

Dont think it runs insane boost levels.
It's a track car not a drag car so it needs to run for more than a minute at a time.

have you watched a movie called "getaway in stockholm" ?
true footage from a street racer with a 500+hp supra racing a 500+ rs cosworth escort around stockholm late at night. also some footage from a late model porsche dragging off cops in a volvo on the motorway

Horsepowers for bragging, Torques for dragging...

Yes, but not sure how that helps me??

I'm trying to decide on a turbo for my 3ltr skyline. Thought a 2JZ would be a good comparison (not many 3ltr skylines around).
My target is 700hp @ the engine without NOS.
