what grade of gear box oil do i use in a black top 4AGE???

unless you have the 6 speeder or a lsd box, vmx should be fine..
Toyota NZ put this in all their ae10* boxes when they had problems with the oil toyota put in in the factory. (ae10* but ae111 should have the same box 'me thinks)

next time your in repco, ask them to look at one of their oil books, it will tell you exactly what is recomended and how much you need

The repco book sez VMX and 2.8lt (from what i rember)
