VVT is on the intake campully... so if you change them you loose it... vvt changes the timming by 15degrees(from memory) so you could ether set the adjustable intake to be fwd 15 and have a bouncy/shit idle (also make sure not to rev it to high while cold) and if you have them set with standard timming the engine prolly wont want to rev near as hard, your better off putting a switch on the VVT an making sure everything is tuned up well... unless you can afford new cams... but as vvega said.... look at the ecu... some improvments can be made there.
