howdy dude your car makes 88 kw (?) same as the blue top tvis engine
they have 4-1 exaust manifold standard so a .5" exaust will do and a k&n panel filter with cold air induction should give 15% more power

after that look at cams adj cam gears for more agressive timing
or you could slot in a 4agze and turbo that

hey dude. AE92 $age Red Top with t-vis.
- 88kw
potential for good handeling car.
mods - start by ditching the spoiler, thats a massive 10000000 kw power increase, na, but ditch the spoiler for looks.
bat into the boot creats massive space to do pod filter and cold air.
i have a 2 1/4 inch pipe and am getting a custom set of 4 into 1 extractors made up. as the standard extractors are 4-2-1 (and i know im right as i have 3 sets of the right next to me)
i also have catch can, short shift kit, new clutch, and a new set of twin pipes for the back, all have made a difference to the car.
has your car got 'T.E.M.S' suspension in it.
like a switch in the centre console with 'sport and soft' on them. when you put springs with T.E.M.S you get a very solid ride and great handeling with a good set of tires...

any other q? get hold of me on 021-238-2712

hey dude well i must say u did start wif the good one i dont know what u know about them but the redtop motors have the solid crank and also has the steal rods witch is like wicked so this means u can rev the $&#$% nuts off it but the week point on these motors r the conrod bolts theu have a tenancy to break causein a biiig prob so if u do want to rev it hard replace these wif arp bolts

mods) well tehre is a few u can do wif out spendin to much money like the other guys said a good intake system and a good exaust will help these lots the other things u could do if u have the skill is to use the tvis rail take out the butterflys and match post the head to the chambers as theres r miles away from each other a good fuel pressure control would help ( but if u want to be cheep then just smack the centre off the outher one wif a large punch as this will put more tension on the spring and give i a we bit more pressure

if u want to know more buy all means e-mail me or some shit

aight laters
if u cant beet em bash em!!!!!!

last time i checked all engine's had steel rod's and solid cranks. Athe only difference between a bluetop and Redtop T-VIS engine is the red top has a 7 rib block and 42mm Big end's instead of the Blue tops 40mm. It kust make's them heavier then the blue top and not not as rev happy.

the bluetop has solid crank and alaloy rods

the bluetop has steel rods.

the cranks in ALL 4ages are the same from late 87.. that goes for the very last of the AW11 bluetops as well but not ae82 or 86.
so its possible to have a bluetop with the 42mm crank.

the rod bolts are the weak point, all 4ages will handle 8000 or more rpm (except black top 20vs) but you can also run into oil problems

Redtop T-VIS engine is the red top has a 7 rib block and 42mm Big end's instead of the Blue tops 40mm. It kust make's them heavier then the blue top and not not as rev happy.

correct except for the rev part... in theroy thats true but i dont think the difference is noticable, id only worry about that in a full on race engine.

Taking out the tvis is not a good idea. The tvis was designed to give higher air velocity down low in the rev range. Taking it out would give less low down torque. With the big port head, the ports are too big to give good air velocity. If u want to try it before taking it out, then block of the hose that fits up to the tvis plate, it works off manifold vacuum. Try it and you should feel a sluggish bottom end. Why take off something toyota designed from factory. Its there for a reason!! Look at the smallport. They made smaller ports with no tvis!

Leave the tvis in unless you are changing intakes!
