4AGE into a KE70?

Postby Rollaman » Tue May 04, 2004 12:25 am

Im looking at doing an engine conversion, 4AGE into a KE70 and was looking for any helpfull tips. Things like what engine mounts are commonly used, ive heard you can use a cross member out of either a TE70 or AE86/85 and use oringinal mounts? Would be good if i could work out what parts i need to at least make a honest start on it.

yea ae85/ae86 x-member (try to get one without power steering)
t50 or k50 gearbox, for the t50 use a te71 gearbox x-member,
lots of other things to think about too,
fuel pump and line upgrade swirl tank and radiator.
heaps of pther little things will pop up on the way too.
mean as project tho, ke70's handle like go-karts and with some decent
power should be a f**kn wicked ride!.

the only gearboxes you can use are K50 from an ae85 (or another car, but must fit A series motor) or a T50 with an A bellhousing (which will cost you an arm and a leg)
you have one other option which is to get a niteparts W5* gearbox bellhousing (custom) and a w series gearbox... each have theyre strong points.. k50 is cheaper easier to find, cable clutch but its weak...
T50 is stronger but getting hard to find and you'll need to link up a hydro clutch.
w5* are strong as but more expensive and you'll probly need a custom box cross member and drive shaft, might also need to take a ding out of the firewall/box tunnel too but im not sure
hope it helps.. if you want more info PM me ive 4age'd 2 dx's so far :)
