bluetop (noiseyish) idle

Postby 4agepwr » Sat Jul 03, 2004 12:12 pm

i went to look at a corolla gt and what concernced me was the idle.
my old corolla gt used to sound exactly like it . its sorta sounds like this
barrrbbopbop......barrrrrbopbopbop,,baarrrrr bopbaaaaaaaar
kinda of like a misfire.
ive heard quite a few bluetops and they usually dont make this sound.
it idles at around 1000rpm when its warm.
could it be the headgasket on its way out?
does ur bluetop make this sorta sound?
cheers

had 2 4age bluetops that did the same thing, one was fixed my replacing the leads and sparkies and the other was due ti the blown HG, once the HG was replaced no more misfires. If theres no oil in the water, and if she don't boil i'd say theres a good chance that a new set of leads and sparkies would cure all :)

Could also be a Vaccuum leak somewhere.
